I’m BACK!

After a very frustrating week of:

• Closing on our new home (signed papers in SC, found that the vital parts weren’t signed/transmitted), traveled to OH to deal with the issue in person (husband traveled all night), and finally got the keys and started moving stuff in.
• We had electricity, but not gas, water, or internet.
• Gas turned on later that day. Forgot to turn on the heat, but husband corrected that this morning.
• Went in person to the Water dept. They were SUPER about scheduling it ASAP – and we can now shower!
• I got in my car, traveled to a local Best Buy (well, kind of local – Lorain, outside of the central, is pretty rural), and picked up a router – got the Linksys Mesh Network system – easy setup, works amazingly well.
• Will have appliances delivered tomorrow, and installed.

I’m tired, dirty, and sore. I’m going to check email, take a shower, and lay down for a nap.

We had been considering moving to S. Carolina. Why did you choose to move from there to Ohio, if it is appropriate to answer.
Thanks, John in Indy

1. Most of my family is in OH. A few more distantly related in FL.
I’m the oldest of the siblings, as is my husband. However, we’re in the best general health. They don’t need assisted living, but they need more oversight than I can give them in SC.
Plus, kids/grandkids/great-grandkids. And friends.

Congrats on the move. Everyone that’s gone through that process can relate.
Ohio is no place to be when you’re older. Best of luck.

Welcome aboard!

Don’t know where in SC you are, but you’ll enjoy it here. I moved to SC from (secret location redacted) years ago and never looked back. Mild winters, hot – but reasonably short – summers, great fall and spring, wonderful people, more stuff to do than you’ll have time to do it in.
