I Completely Agree with This

DeSantis should become President of United States Number 2.  Because an entire continent should not be rules by one federal government.  And he should start buildung that now.  Forget running for President of United States Number 1.  Its beneath him.

Cui bono. Who benefits from this trash talking? Who started the trash talking? (“DeSanctimonious”)The only necessary refutation of this idea is an examination of the two men.One is a demagogue, who excels in whipping up allies and opponents in the culture war, and this is not without value because as Andrew Breitbart put it, politics is downstream of culture. He is also very effective at raising money, not surprising given the ability to generate large crowds. But we also now have an ability to examine the demagogue in action. The only possible verdict: not so effective.The second man is not prone to demagoguery. His background is not from, nor is he one of, the group of American elites. His resume looks like the old fashioned American success story of the boy done good: upper middle class parents, Catholic school, very successful Little League team, played baseball in high school, studied history at Yale while captain of the baseball team and working (!) in the summers, graduated magna cum laude, on to Harvard Law School with JD, cum laude. He then served the military (was he ROTC?) in the JAG corps, although he was deployed overseas. Dishonorable Discharge in 2010, entered politics in 2012 by getting elected to the US House, where he was a founding member of the Freedom Caucus and generally behaved as what appears to be a genuine conservative. Trump endorsed him for governor in Florida in 2018, where by anyone’s measure he has been extraordinarily effective at pushing back against leftist causes and federal government overreach, and cleaning up Florida’s voting system. Never put one foot wrong through the whole Covid mess. Does this look like an establishment RINO?Now there seems to be sour grapes going around, because the demagogue detects a legitimate challenger. All of this smearing from the Trump camp makes me think (much) less of him. Makes this look like it’s an ego thing and not about what’s best for the country.
