They keep saying “No” out one side of their mouths while muttering “Yes” out the other. Freedom of expression, yay! Except for “hate speech” and “misinformation”… which turns out to be disagreeing with them on any subject of importance.
Time was, a powerful argument against giving government the power to deny a right to a disfavored person or group was straightforward, easily comprehended by anyone of normal intelligence: “You won’t be in the majority forever. Would you like that power used against you?” But those days are behind us. Either the Left believes it can cement itself into permanent power, or its strategists fear the consequences of losing power so greatly that they’re willing to gamble everything on the off-chance that it can suppress its opponents’ communications.
Either way, they want to censor us. Take it straight from the horse’s mouth:
That Tim Walz falsely believes the free speech guarantee doesn’t include what he considers to be ‘misinformation’ or ‘hate speech’ will bother almost no Dem supporters, since the vast majority of them want the state to be empowered to censor dissent.pic.twitter.com/z74vizL9HT

I wonder: would it be “hate speech” to cite Walz’s record as governor of Minnesota? His four days of passivity as Minneapolis burned? His endorsement of “gender affirming care” for minors, against their parents’ wishes? What about his support for voting rights for convicted felons, or his multiply-repeated claim that Russian interference elected Donald Trump president? Or would Walz deem that “misinformation?”
I suppose he’s an appropriate running mate for Kamala Harris after all. The VP nominee shouldn’t look better than the person at the top of the ticket.
