Freedom, “Global Governance,” and Islam

     Time was, we Americans believed that the success of the American experiment in freedom would inspire the rest of the world into choosing our way. Thomas Jefferson thought so, anyway: “The ball of liberty is now so well in motion that it will roll round the globe.” He wrote that in a letter to Tench Coxe, a political economist and delegate to the Continental Congress. (No, I didn’t know that when I first set my fingers to the keys; I had to look it up, the same as you.)

     We believed it. From time to time, we got contraindications from events in other lands, but we also got some support for our beliefs, as well.

     The philosopher John Hospers tried to remind us that the forces of tyranny are marching, too – that we who believe in human freedom are engaged in a race against time. It was an unpleasant bit of news, and like many such, it was more ignored than addressed. Perhaps some recent events will serve to awaken those who prefer to close their eyes to it:

     What’s that you say? Those things are happening in nations other than ours? Well, consider this: the political Establishment of our nation is very friendly with the Establishment of the United Kingdom. Several members of our Establishment are members of the Club of Rome. And the presidential and vice-presidential candidates on the Democrat ticket agree that we Americans are too free to speak our minds. But still: It can’t happen here, right? We have the Constitution to protect us, don’t we?

     Divemedic administers the cold water:

     The UK says that they will extradite and prosecute Americans for saying mean things on the Internet, which is a violation of UK law. It’s illegal to say mean things while engaging in political speech online.
     You might scoff, but remember that it won’t be UK police coming to arrest you. It will be US cops coming to haul you away to be sent to the UK for doing something that is entirely legal to do here in the US.

     Don’t think so? Did you know that, as the CIA is forbidden by law to spy on Americans, it buys British intelligence organs’ spying on Americans? It gets away with it, too: the information is coming from another country, so the CIA is completely in compliance with the law! No doubt there’s a swap going on, though the details are hard to ascertain.

     Think about that for a moment. Let it sink in. Add coffee as necessary.

     The folks at the Babylon Bee are best known for their satires and parodies, but they have a sister organization that delivers the straight poop:

     And they are quite correct about that.

     Political Establishments are always against:

  • Freedom of expression;
  • The right to keep and bear arms;
  • Personal privacy;
  • Property rights;
  • The right to be free from double jeopardy;
  • The trial jury’s power to nullify laws;
  • The application of the rule of law to the myrmidons of the State.

     Those things threaten their security in their positions. “The aim of the High is to remain where they are,” remember? Anything that protects or empowers the private citizen against the reach of the State is anathema to them. And so, all the items in the above list have been under attack for a century and more.

     I can see that I’m on the edge of what the C.S.O. calls “frothing at the keyboard,” so I’ll round this off with what might seem a tangential observation at best. Note that the United Kingdom is unsettled largely because of the influx of restive, demanding, frequently violent Muslim immigrants. That influx, which has resulted in Muslims being nearly one-seventh of the UK’s population, has been enabled and tacitly encouraged by the British political Establishment. The British constabulary is openly enforcing laws in a “two-tier” fashion: against native Britons, but not against Muslim immigrants. Indeed, as the list of links in the first section makes plain, they’re even enforcing non-laws against the Britain First and UKIP parties. Their masters would love to extend their power to suppress opposed sentiments until it covers our nation as well.

     Muslims have been flooding into our nation as well. Islam demands that the whole world accept Islam as religiously, socially, and politically supreme. Don’t take my word for it; read the Koran. Do you think the results will be any more pleasant here than across the Atlantic? More relevant still, why do you suppose our Establishment is so determined to keep the doors to that flow of migrants open?

     That’s enough for this morning. Have a nice day.

  1. Who here is still obsessed with the coming elections? Expecting the results will certainly bring us a chance to beat back this onslaught? The corruption needed to obliterate all checks and balances could not possibly be thorough enough, right?

    Pray for wisdom be widely sought (yes, even by the corrupted) rather than hope you are right.

    As Joseph Stalin bragged “it’s not who votes that counts [in a domain such as his], it’s who counts the votes.”

    1. Related: The European Union just issued a letter to Elon Musk demanding that he censor Donald Trump in their upcoming interview. Threatening him with “legal obligations” if he fails to stop the “disinformation”

  2. So, the UK appears to be on the road to becoming a Muslim – minority / majority at some point.   That is one where the Muslims can create a majority in Parliament by aligning with other constituencies.  ( I will leave the identities of such as an exercise for the student.) The Prime Minister will then be either a Muslim or aligned with that group.   Sharia law and the end of a 1000 years of civilization will follow.

    No Western country has ever gone that far.    I predict it won’t happen, but at a terrible cost.

    Why do I say that?  Where is it going?   Are those marching bands of young military aged men masked and dressed all in black going to be satisfied with anything less than what their religion mandates?

    Well, consider this.   Carefully.   The UK possesses over 200 nuclear weapons and a fleet of 4 nuclear submarines armed with American Trident II D5 missiles.  The British have at least one nuclear-armed sub deployed at all times.   The UK retains — and is using  — the capacity to build additional weapons.

    Contemplate the likely scenarios in which those weapons are kept from being under the control of an Islamic state.

    As an extension of this mental exercise, consider the French who are in a comparable status.
