A Parable for Our Times

You need to read this post about unintended consequences, and the mindset of The Left that leaves them unable to anticipate the natural consequences of their actions.

People of The Left have long been insulated from consequences. Their access to money and privilege leaves them unable to understand that their experiences are radically different from the norm. They can afford to toss the homeless some money. It’s the people working a low-paid job that cannot.

Worse, should the begging get to be too intrusive or even threatening, well, The Privileged Left can just use Uber to make their destination, avoiding the hassle of walking the streets.

Not so the average person. At best, they can try to escape via public transportation.

But, no, the “unhoused” get FREE bus passes, so the hapless members of the public are trapped by smelly, threatening thugs. Can’t look to the driver to kick the person presenting the threat – at best, they just want to arrive home alive. At worst, they hope to avoid the scolds of HR dragging them in on their day off to inform them they have been written up for their hostility to poor people/minorities. They’d be lucky to escape with a few days loss of pay.

It’s the same story in schools, in employment, in housing. The Privileged Left can bypass inconvenient rules and regulations that come with dependence on public services.
Thats the real appeal of Trump. The voters want him to dismantle the Nanny State, and toss the bums out on their rumps.

We can only hope, and vote.
