…it’s even money or better that they’re actually terrified:
U.S. Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., described President-elect Trump’s choice of Rep. Matt Gaetz to serve as his next attorney general as a “God tier kind of trolling.”
[…]
“It’s just kind of like a God tier kind of trolling just to trigger a meltdown,” he said. “But, really, the Dems’ opinions on Gaetz, that’s not really what’s interesting. The good ones are going to come by my colleagues on the other side, the GOP, on how they can justify voting for that j— off.”
[…]
“He will never get confirmed,” a Republican senator, granted anonymity to speak freely, told Fox News Digital. Another Senate Republican source said, “Ain’t gonna happen.”
A flaky Democrat and two anonymous Republicans dismissing Gaetz as “ain’t gonna happen” — ? Whether or not Gaetz is confirmed, this speaks to the depth of the ethics quagmire on Capitol Hill. Those people have been quaking since the election was called. They know Trump means business – and he’s likely to be particularly angry with those who’ve attempted to demean or slander him. The Republican Establishment is probably even more frightened than the Democrats.
Stay tuned.

The Senate is scheduled to adjourn December 20th. Reconvene January 6th. I don’t see how president Trump can get recess appointments because he’s not inaugurated until January 20th. So what is all this talk about him being given promises of making or being allowed to make recess appointments?

That baffled me, too.
I have to wonder if the Gaetz “nomination” is merely a part of Trump’s Art of the Deal strategy. Having participated in many negotiations myself, I can appreciate the strategy of the opening gambit seeming a bridge too far, in order to facilitate an eventual settlement that is more favorable than might have otherwise have been negotiated. As has often been stated, if you don’t ask, you can’t get. Even if you don’t get what you innitially asked for, you might manage something pretty good as your outcome. “A man’s reach should exceed his grasp, or what’s a Heaven for?” as someone else expounded. Meanwhile, Trump gets the satisfaction of causing his enemies to soil their precious panties as well as smoke out some of those whose support is less than total. Trump knows what he is doing. Trust Trump.

You have a good point. A friend of mine once said that in a negotiation over a sale price, if your opening price doesn’t make your opposite number clutch his chest and slump to the floor, it wasn’t high enough. Nevertheless, I think Gaetz would do a good job. He’s certainly motivated enough!
There are probably enough Congresscritters on Epstein’s or Diddy’s list for Gaetz to easily be approved so long as they know Gaetz knows. Though it sounds sick, the AG has bigger fish to fry than pedos.
They tried to shoot him.I would be in a different country by now, but none of us believe these people are actually very smart.
