It turns out that Haiti is indeed a shithole

Who woulda thunk it?

American Airlines is no longer resuming its daily service out of Miami into Port-au-Prince’s Toussaint Louverture International Airport. American had initially suspended flights through February 12. The suspension is now indefinite.

A spokesperson for the U.S.-based carrier said that it will evaluate a possible resumption in late 2025 of the only daily service out of Miami International Airport into Haiti by a major U.S. airline.

This comes after The Federal Aviation Administration prohibited U.S. airlines from flying to Haiti for 30 days after gangs shot three planes. Further, the United Nations temporarily suspended flights to Port-au-Prince on Tuesday, limiting humanitarian aid coming into the country.

One of my MP buddies had been in Haiti after a hurricane. Disaster relief and all that. Some of the locals had decided to steal a 55-gallon drum of something or other. Just tipped it over and rolled it away, all the way to their shack. Now, this being Haiti, a lot of the roads are dirt roads, which means that my MP buddy and his squad simply had to follow the tracks that are left when one is rolling a 55 gallon drum. And so the did. Just following the tracks for about 500 yards, whereupon they found the 55 gallon drum “hidden” under a pile of garbage, and when my buddy and his squad went to retrieve that drum, they were met with accusations of theft and thuggery. And when my buddy pointed out that they were simply retrieving an item that the locals had stolen, every single person there swore on a stack of bibles that they didn’t steal anything.

Despite the evidence. The blatant, obvious evidence that they had stolen the 55 gallon drum, clearly marked as US property, with the tracks still fresh and clean in the dirt road.

Haiti is a shithole. It’s always been a shithole. The Dominican Republic knows this, which is why they built a fence along their border with Haiti and they refuse to let Haitians into the DR. There is absolutely no reason that we should be letting Haitians into the USA, as the chance of them acculturating and integrating is pretty damn small. If you want to help Haiti, do it in Haiti, but you’re going to have to bring guns, a strong stomach, and the will to be ruthless to the gangs that currently control Haiti. And I don’t see many Americans willing to do that. In order to help Haiti, you have to be willing to kill the cannibalistic gangs. Let me say that louder for the people in the back: In order to help Haiti, you have to be willing to shoot the gangs that are killing and eating people. I don’t see the American public being willing to see that.

Quite honestly, you’d probably have to start breeding their women with Americans just to raise the average IQ of the place, assuming you could find women who aren’t riddled with various STDs, including HIV. Haiti has the highest rate of HIV in the Caribbean. And then you would have to wait a few generations to see if that worked.

What should NOT be happening is the importation of Haitians into this country. Remember, whatever people do in their country they will do in our country. There is no magic dirt that turns third-world barbarians into civilized humans. You have to enforce civilization. It’s not an inherent thing. And I don’t think that we have a population in this country that’s willing to do what must be done in order to enforce civilization in Haiti. Hell, I don’t think it’s our job as Americans to enforce civilization in another country. We can’t even enforce it in our own Democrat controlled cities.

And for those who would accuse me of not being a good Christian for my thoughts, remember that the Good Samaritan didn’t take the wounded man to his house. He took him to an inn and paid for his stay there.

The cultural changes required to change the society in situ would take generations of harsh punishment for anarchists and criminals.
Relief at this time is absorbed by the criminals in the government or crime organizations, so that’s a waste of resources. I agree with your warning, and don’t trust anyone that suggests otherwise. Such people are unable to understand logic, or have evil as their goal. The problems of Haiti need to remain in Haiti.

Similar story here. A co-worker is in the reserves and at one point had to go down there to babysit and the stories he brought back were frightening to say the least.
For my part, I worked with a Haitian woman around twenty five years ago and that was a harrowing experience. I never thought I’d see the day where I would file a harassment complaint against a female employee, but it happened. The female was not only incensed over the fact that I refused to date her (spoiler alert, calling her homely would be considered kind), she got a glimpse of the girl I was dating at the time (picture in my wallet) and she caused a scene at work, shouting at me, “How can you think that girl is prettier than me? Answer me! That girl is ugly, I can’t believe you would rather be with her than me!” (Full disclosure, my girlfriend at the time bore a striking resemblance to the model Madeline Ford.)
My supervisor at the time had his hands full attempting to figure out not only what happened, but how to discipline the female. He didn’t want to deal with it, but I told him that I wasn’t going to put up with being screamed at like that, especially with regards to something from my personal life that has no bearing on work. I don’t know what he did, but not only did she avoid me, but she upped and quit about ten days later. I worked with a Haitian male a few years later on a construction job. He claimed he had ten years experience, but the mechanic had to constantly follow him around and correct his work. When he got fired after three weeks, he told the foreman he’ll have to look over his shoulder the rest of his life. Yes, a police report was made and no, as far as I know the foreman was never attacked.

“If you want to help Haiti, do it in Haiti, “

I assume those who managed to flee Haiti were the very best Haiti had. After way too many interactions with them, I’m afraid that the only way to help Haiti would require many canisters of Sarin.
