I had hopes that it truly had become a free-speech platform, but apparently disagreeing with Elon Musk about H1B visas gets you shushed:
Something very interesting and openly obvious is happening amid the backlash that Elon Musk and the Silicon Valley network are facing to their H1B position.
Effective December 26, Elon Musk changed the Twitter algorithm to dimmish those voices who would openly confront his network of supporters within Silicon Valley and beyond. If large follower Twitter accounts, like those of Musk himself, David Sacks, Vivek Ramaswamy and Musks’ promoted network of influencers begin blocking accounts on the platform, then the voices of those accounts get purposefully diminished by the algorithm.
Much like having a VIP section that can remove people from the audience, Musk is pushing opposing viewpoints into the background of the public square.
Maybe I don’t care if my access is restored, after all.

You shouldn’t… (care if your access is restored).
I can’t convey my level of doubt that Elon is personally doing any software coding at X, or anyplace he’s associated with. I’ve never seen anyone at a rank above first level supervisor do any actual work like that and if I was a stockholder and knew about it, I’d do my best to raise a fuss about it at the annual meetings. There are far more important things for a CEO to be working on. At the very most, he’d suggest it to someone somewhat like, “it would be cool if the software could…” Personally, I see nothing to convince me it’s not some rogue people still at X or even just a mistake.
There’s no question that Elon Musk is a loose cannon. That’s not always a bad thing: my blue heeler, Rocky, turns into a loose cannon in any rat-infested barn as soon as we start lifting lumber and digging up the burrows. Watch out Rats, Rocky’s explodin’ on the scene!
Still, if you’re standing too close, or your fingers’re in the way, when she goes in for the kill, you could get bit. So, when managing a loose canon, like an Elon, or a half-wild hunting dog, it’s a good idea to stand about ten yards back and a little off to the side, out of the immediate ‘blast zone,’ and just watch them work.
I’m sure he knows this but I’ll say it anyway: Trump’d do well stay aloof and an arm’s length away from , as Musk’s extemporaneous explosions and prolific f-bombs can be expected to cause incidental collateral damage.
Kind of sad that this is happening, as the H1-B issue hits close to home.
Have respect for Elon for his many accomplishments. He’s done more than most could do in 5 lifetimes.
But this is a big error. I think he realizes it. However, the question is, can he draw solid conclusions that place him on the side of America and Americans? That is yet to be seen.
