Long, long ago, when giants walked the Earth, there was a radio disk jockey named Herb Oscar Anderson. He had the early-morning show on WABC-AM, beginning at 5:00 AM. Each day his first selection would be a “Hymn of the Morning.” I used to wake to those hymns, and I miss them today. (I also get up earlier and crankier than back then.)
In the Anderson tradition, have a Hymn of the Morning – though not one Herb would have selected. It’s by Jim Dawson, from his 1971 album Songman:
May God bless and keep you all.

In 1954 I built a crystal radio. For those not familiar with them it had a needle point that you placed on the open crystal and a radio station transmission came through your earphones. That was the total limit of your control. If you wanted to change the station you moved the needle point and something else came through. I lived in Boston but the strongest station after dark was a “pirate” radio station in Tejuana Mexico. At some point later, I’m not sure, late 50’s maybe Wolf Man Jack took over the long distant rock and roll radio. That was state of the art 50’s high tech.
It looks like there is a euphonium turned upside down in that photo!!!
