For many years, Palestinian irredentists have counted on “international opinion” to restrain Israel’s responses to Palestinian terror strikes. And for many years, they got their wish. But the attack of October 7, 2023, which reaped 1200 lives that day and carried off a great many hostages – the majority of whom are either dead or in terrible shape – has rebalanced the equation. Benjamin Netanyahu’s administration regards this as a war to the finish, and he has President Trump’s full support.
