Is This The Hill To Die On?

     Well, is it?

A bipartisan group of senators announced an agreement on principle for gun safety legislation Sunday, which includes “needed mental health resources, improves school safety and support for students, and helps ensure dangerous criminals and those who are adjudicated as mentally ill can’t purchase weapons,” they said in a statement.

Notably, the announcement includes the support of 10 Republican senators, which would give the proposal enough support to overcome the Senate filibuster. The agreement is significant given how divided lawmakers have been over the gun issue, but the actual legislative text is not yet written….

Critically, the legislation includes a so-called red flag provision, with the government providing “resources to states and tribes to create and administer laws that help ensure deadly weapons are kept out of the hands of individuals whom a court has determined to be a significant danger to themselves or others,” according to the release. The proposal would also include “major investments to increase access to mental health and suicide prevention programs; and other support services available in the community, including crisis and trauma intervention and recovery.”

Now that Republicans are siding with the Democrats and against our Constitutionally guaranteed rights, is it time to lock and load? Have we reached the point at which rebellion is not only thinkable but obligatory? I’d like to know.

Long past time, but if no one has started by now, I have little faith our country will be brought back.

      Agree completely.

Lock and load? No, I don’t think so.  Make sure you have enough rounds and magazines, at least some of them where they can’t be confiscated, definitely. Incidentally, if you plan ahead and know what you are doing, a “boating accident” is not the worst thing. They are really hard to find/retrieve for anyone who does not know about them. And fishing the same spot several days in a row (if you can’t snag your line) is completely in character for fishermen.

If the turncoats of the (R) persuasion had even a scintilla of principle, they would recognize that in every stinking case of a 18-21 YO shooter, there were warning signs in the “permanent record” of that shooter. Rather than punishing all the responsible early adults, it makes a whole lot more sense to unseal the records of the irresponsible. If at age 14 you threaten to shoot up a school, maybe you should get a little closer scrutiny than the kid who kept his nose clean.

I think it’s obligatory, myself, but nobody listens to me.

Sadly, it might already be too late. Keep in mind that the degenerates and other mental defectives are for the most part highly intelligent. Do you honestly think that if their posting of their filth could get them stopped they would do so? I believe this is a bigger problem than many people seemingly do.

It might be possible – MIGHT – to discover the violent proclivities of mental patients in advance but, are we sliding down a slippery slope? I do not pretend to have either the education or the intelligence to know all the answers but I believe I am smarter than 95% of all DC occupants.

Lock and load and when they come for your Constitutionally guaranteed weapons and go down in a blaze of glory???? How has it come to this point? We have become complacent and frankly numbed by all the bs of the left. Goebbels would be amazed at how well his propaganda ideas have worked.
