Things That Shouldn’t Need To Be Said Dept.

While this story is a few days old:

Two inmates serving time in New Jersey’s only state prison for women became pregnant after they had sex with a transgender inmate, according to a report Wednesday.

The unidentified jailbirds became pregnant at the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility after engaging in “consensual sexual relationships with another incarcerated person,” the state Department of Corrections told NJ.com.

…it is nevertheless relevant to the enveloping debate about transgenderism, to wit:

If you seriously wish to present as the opposite of your birth sex, you should try your best to stay out of jails and prisons.

I have spoken. But do have a nice day.

That tells me that the trans woman in question had probably been off her hormones for awhile, if she was ever on them.  HRT inhibits sperm production.  (If she’d been on hormones previously, then for some reason the jail wasn’t supplying them to her. What reason that might be, I will not speculate.)

Here in Denver, I was told that, in prison, they put you in the side according to “your plumbing.” Meaning that a pre-op trans woman would get put in male prison.  This was as of 2014 or so; I don’t know if their policy has been changed since.

Relax, I had no plans for a life of crime before transition, and I certainly don’t have any now. 😉

I was fairly certain of that, Amy, so I wasn’t worried for you. 😁
