How would you, Gentle Reader, defend your privacy and property against a ukase such as that of New York City Mayor Eric Adams? Adams will have police power at his disposal. He might also have elements of the New York National Guard, if he can secure the cooperation of his fellow traveler Kathy Hochul in Albany. And there’s always the possibility that the Biden Administration, which purely loves illegal aliens, might lend a hand. Are you prepared to stand them all off?
When the Communists did this in the early (“Dr. Zhivago”) years of the Soviet Union, at least the “beneficiaries” were Russian citizens.

Kathy Hochul in Albany will soon be making that mandatory for the entire state. They are collectively holding their breath to see if people will comply without making too big of a fuss. And they’ll suppress all stories of about any conflicts. No need to bring in the national guard until then. But just be prepared to share. If you have an adult child who would be willing or any adult grandchild who could move into all spare bedrooms.
So if you are a renter with an extra 1 or 2 bedrooms and the state pays you money what happens with the rent. Of course the owner going to want his more than fair share of that money. Your $2,500 rent overnight goes to $5K. Sharing a kitchen do they get 2 shelves and you 2, do you each do the cooking. Border crossing have let through people from more than 199 countries. So you get a Ukrainian and a Russian. Or a Hispanic and a Pakistani? This could get really interesting.

I do not mean to hijack this thread, but this story dovetails with the one above, as most of the invaders that have come over the last two years are military age/conditioned. Who better to enforce the will of the state and make sure you comply like a good serf than those that will murder your family and take your home.
This is what the 3th Amendment was written for. Immediate legal fight, accompanied by refusal to comply.
However, if you rent, you’re hosed. Landlords will LOVE this, just as they did Section 8. Think of the thrill that run down their legs as they contemplate TWO separate groups of tenants, and TWO separate rents for the same property.
There will be NO rich that will have to share. Only the working chumps will have to share with non-English speaking roomies, and whatever cultural enrichment they bring with themselves.

Considering how awful asylum seekers treat the homes (owned by the state) they are put in here in Germany I say that after two months tops the home will no longer be up to standard.
