Prayer request

My wife’s father just got diagnosed with cancer. Bad. Bleeding, can’t keep food down, unable to talk already. Double plus ungood.

If he goes – and I believe he will – it’ll be the second death (from cancer!) in my wife’s close family within a couple of months. Her uncle was the first.

Please say a prayer for him – for healing, if not for healing then a swift passage… and for my wife, who will be crushed.

Praying now for him, you and your wife, and his doctors.

Praying for your father in law and wife.

  2. I am sorry to read of the trials of you family.

  3. Thank you all!
It’s sadly ironic.  Our “big trip” for a few years was go to to Kazakhstan last summer which – obviously – didn’t happen.  Then her uncle, who was an amazing man (the town where he lived is erecting a statue to him!), passed.  So next year the plan is to go (pending no spicy time and my being able to fly without a Jab)… and now this. 🙁
My wife has not really had to deal with deaths for a long, long time.  To lose two close relatives in such short order?  And both times with her unable to be there?  Going to be very hard on her.

  4. You are always too young to lose a parent. The only compensation for the loss is if they are released from the pain of their disease.

    1. I don’t know how he is. My wife said, yesterday, that he was walking around a little and denying there was a fuss. But my wife’s mother attempted to call ME – she knows no English and I only a few words of Russian. That’s unheard of. Later I found out from my wife that she’d not picked up a call from her mother because she didn’t want to hear anything.

I told my wife that bad news doesn’t get better with age, and that bad events don’t go away simply because you refuse to hear them.
