    Same theory as “I didn’t speak up when they came for (fill in the blank) and ending with “when they came for me there was no one left to speak for me”. This is as I remember and probably not quite accurate. Heard it 70 years ago.

    I encountered one of those ‘traps’ this weekend. I’m at a Physics conference, and the price of attending was to put my info on ID.Me (government run).
    I fudged the pictures. They rejected me.
    Today, I was able to attend by showing an old shot record. They didn’t even look at it very closely.
    I’m on a short break right now – eating a quick snack. After that, it’s wall-to-wall meetings, until it’s time to leave for the airport.
