A “Commercial” You Won’t Believe

I don’t know who. I don’t quite know how. I’m told “artificial intelligence” was involved. If so, I don’t think the copywriters and creative directors on Madison Avenue have anything to worry about, at least for now.

What’s embedded below is supposed to be a beer commercial:

Was it intended to be compelling? Was it intended to be funny? Was it intended to be a warning about the terrible hazards of backyard parties with barbecues and beer??

We may never know. But beware.

At last, I have a piece that can justly be labeled Uncategorized…because it’s uncategorizable.

  1. I played it at .25 speed with sound off. Conclusion: this AI is itself distorted, which indicts its fiendish programmer.

  2. I have no idea what I just watched, but it wasn’t anything I need to watch again.

This is easily recognized. It is a continuation of Frost’s “objectivity training” of Mark Studdock in “That Hideous Strength”.

They want you to become acclimated to these distorted demons sucking bolts of electronic fire with gaping maws.

They want you to submit to intentional ugliness and fake hilarity, and they want you to call it “normal”.

They want you to stomp on the cross of Jesus, on command, and to be devoid of all feeling when you do it.

Ultimately they want to kill your moral soul. Prepare to see much more of this subversive filth in the days ahead.

    1. Thanks for making that connection, but who, in this case, are “they?” Is it the AI that constructed the “ad,” or the humans who selected its parameters and its input material?

I lasted nine seconds. I find this stuff unbearably creepy. Trapped in Uncanny Valley, as they say. It’s like all the AI  ‘anime girl in sexy fetish costume’ stuff you see on GAB. I wish it would just go away.

It’s a sarcastic parody of beer commercials. You’ve seen the ones where happy, smiling people have a party and drink beer.

    1. Well yes, I’ve seen real ones. But this one is AI-generated, with what sort of human-selected input I have no idea. Makes you wonder, anyway.
