Google’s Avoidance of St. Patrick is NOT New

I saw this post on American Thinker – pointing out that this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Google Doodle ignores the saint almost completely.

It got me thinking, and I found that almost ALL of the saint’s day’s doodles were secular, or near enough. The closet thing to a recognition of the religious aspect of the day was shamrocks used in the pictures.

It’s a pity. A country’s Patron Saint, particularly one that changed so much of history (including American history) should be noted properly.

You can check out the doodles here. Lots of green shamrocks, some loose connection to the island, and only a few that even skirt around the edges of Catholicism. 2012 comes the closest – as the doodle is based on the Book of Kells.

I really don’t care about Gagg-me’s doodles. I am attempting to avoid Gagg-me as much as possible. It’s impossible to avoid all of Gagg-me’s many Hydra tentacles, but I try my best.
The only time and way that I will pay any close attention to Gagg-me/Alphabet, is when I hear that they have been hauled into court for monopolistic practices, removal of Rule 230 protection status (I think I got that right – if not, feel free to correct the error), and are having financial difficulties.
Really, this should not surprise you, Gagg-me has been a Socialist (non-religious) entity for many years. I don’t know if they are getting worse, or just more open. Either way…..
ANd I can’t really say that Gagg-me is non-religious. They ARE religious…….they worship themselves, and the State is their church. If you do not believe in the exact same orthodoxy as they do, they will burn you at the stake (or the modern equivalent thereof) (does that count as a religion? or a cult?)

  1. Quite a lengthy name you’ve got there.
I only pay attention to Google and other Big Tech companies/applications when their toxic influence poses a threat to our American culture – whether that is discourse, hostility to traditional religions, or salacious assaults on our public square.
It does affect all of us – the coarseness, the lies, the deliberate manipulation of news – whether we try to avoid it or not.

    Ms Fox,
First, thank you for the positive and timely response. I believe this is the first time that I have corresponded on this site.
Almost every name was a “donation” (slur) given by a LibTard politician or HollyWeirdo. Instead of being insulted, I wear them as badges of honor (you should have seen my “name” some 6-8-10 years ago).
But you’re right. More attention needs to be paid to such entities ad Gagg-me. But I am SO tired. I am well into what used to be called retirement age, yet I still work to keep roof over head and food on table. And there is little to nothing that I can do about Gagg-me’s antics, except attempt to stay away from the tar pool. What little I can do to chip away and negate Gagg-me’s influence, I do. Other then that, I work, and wait. And wait. And wait……and my patience is wearing as thin as Bilbo’s lifespan (a hundred and ‘leventy years.  “I feel thin, sort of stretched, like butter scraped over too much bread.” )
