California Democrats have an odd definition of the state’s power to tax:
California Democrats are looking to push legislation that would tax the state’s wealthiest residents, even if they’ve moved to a different state.
The bill was introduced last week by progressive Democrat Alex Lee, which is looking to impose an extra 1.5 percent annual tax on Californians with a “worldwide net worth” greater than $1 billion, beginning January 2024, with the intention of lowering the threshold to $500 million by 2026, Fox News reports.
“Worldwide net worth” incorporates diverse holdings such as farm assets, arts and other collectibles, as well as stocks and hedge fund interest.
This is the second time in three years that a wealth tax has been approved by the California Assembly. A similar bill from 2020 was ultimately shot down by the state Senate.
This updated version will allow California to impose the tax on residents for years after they’ve left the state.

Mind you, California’s governor, whom I’ve been told has national ambitions, is highly likely to sign it should it reach his desk. But then, he’s just as demented as his co-partisans in the legislature:

The arrogance of a man who proclaims such a thing while surrounded by armed security is beyond my power to capture in a net of words. But beyond that, does he really believe he can get elected while denigrating an essential component of the Constitution of the United States – in a nation with nearly 100 million gun owners?
Apparently Joe Biden isn’t the only case of serious brain decay in high office.

Well, yes he does and he may be right. Afterall, Brandon was “elected” with “81 million votes”. We lost the Senate, almost lost the House, in what should have been a conservative blowout. The Commies have that election season thing nailed down. They elected a turnip from PA and a dead guy from somewhere else.
So yes, Brylcreem Boy could very well be “elected” President, after they get rid of Brandon and Kackles.
I have yet to hear of a tax that politicians didn’t like. You can bet the farm that Kali will pass some sort of tax bill seeking to expand their reach. They went from a huge surplus to a huge deficit virtually overnight. Now they are desperate to find more OPM to spend. OPM = Other People’s Money

They have gotten a geriatric vegetable in office (Joe has always been an imbecile) through fraud …and gotten away with it. Their (election) machine is still in place. So they assume with some cause for confidence that they can “elect” whomever they care to. I cannot see any serious bar to their plans…

While it is likely some judges are so partisan that they view sustaining systemic fraud as “compelling state interest requires it,” it can’t be true of them all. But it is possible that legitimate fears exist in the world where recent threats to even SCOTUS justices that went unaddressed has had it’s deleterious effects on courage to all the rest of the judiciary. The 1969 movie “Z” showed that even when the courts topple the corrupt, the allies of the corrupt (similar to antifa) eliminated the prosecutor, judge and all witnesses and quite a few of the opposition. In short, what happened to the Left in the movie is happening to the Right (and naive leftists who got clintonized) today.
