Vampire Finance

I’d never heard this phrase, but it is surprisingly apt.

It’s been going on for a very long time.

  1. Time was, the antitrust laws could be used early in such a progression to thwart the original gobbling-up. Such actions have become very rare.

  2. The reason and result sounds remarkably similar to what happened when the mob dug its claws into any mom and pop business.

    However, since vampires generate additional vampires, the label seems off. OTOH, parasites kill off their host and move onto the next victim.
